Subconscious Mind

Subconscious programming

Distress, traumas and negative patterns from our lives, are ‘programmed’ into the subconscious mind (much like a file/program that is downloaded on your computer). Most programs and thinking patterns are downloaded into or absorbed by the subconscious mind during the first 5-7 years of a child’s life and serve as a template through which the child, and later adult, will experience and filter reality. The subconscious mind runs 92-97% of our day to day life and accounts for the functioning of most physiological processes such as digestion as well as emotional and mental patterns.

All traumas and distresses affect our physiology: they cause the brain to send electrical impulses and chemicals into the body leading to the experience of negative emotions like anger, sadness, anxiety and fear. When distresses are left unprocessed (healed through integration), the emotional charge of the distress becomes stored in the body’s cells and energy field causing disruptions throughout the body (dis-ease), the mind (negative patterns of behaviour and excess fear) and the energy system (energetic blockages).

The subconscious mind does not know the difference between past, present and future nor does it discern between a positive belief and a negative belief. Therefore any negative programs and patterns you have acquired will keep replaying themselves causing the same conditioned emotional responses, thinking patterns and behaviours until they are brought into conscious awareness, disassembled in the mind and discharged from the body and energy system. It is then possible to reprogram the mind with positive and empowering beliefs, attitudes and ways of being, creating a shift in the way that we experience ourselves and our reality.
