The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a highly effective, simple and gentle method of releasing negative emotions and psychological distress from the body and mind. EFT belongs to a group of techniques known as Meridian Tapping Techniques (MTT) from the field of Energy Psychology. This fast evolving field has integrated the wisdom of Eastern healing traditions such as Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture with Western cognitive therapy. EFT has helped thousands of people experience profound and permanent changes in the release and removal of emotional issues such as anxiety, phobias, addictions, anger, cravings, trauma, grief, depression, physical pain, guilt and more.

EFT is based on the discovery that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system. The technique is a form of ‘psychological acupressure’ that involves the tapping of meridian acupuncture points on the face and body (energetic stress accumulation points), while verbalizing the physical/emotional distress at hand. This clears the energy blocks associated with negative emotions, allowing the body to release stored up tension while facilitating emotional and physical healing at the very root.
